No funding to fix intersection of Stafford Road and South Pine Road

Wed 14 Jun 2017

Desperately needed funding to fix traffic congestion at the intersection of South Pine and Stafford Roads at Everton Park was missing from this week's State Budget.

The State Member for Everton, Tim Mander, said he was extremely disappointed there is no end in sight to the long and frustrating wait to get through this intersection every day for tens of thousands commuters.

"Not only are people wasting precious hours of their week sitting in their cars here, but the intersection at South Pine and Stafford Roads is also dangerous."

"I have been expecting the results of skid resistance testing on the right turn movement from Stafford Road into South Pine Road after several minor car accidents on the intersection in the last 12 months. The State Government still has not provided the results of the testing," said Mr Mander.

Mr Mander said that he was pleased the government re-announced some operational funding for the Youngcare facility at Albany Creek that was originally committed by the last LNP government in 2014.
